In response to the Translation issue of Unfiltered, the design team looked at the peanut butter and jelly sandwich as an American icon. It all started as a playful experiment to see what happens when you elevate a simple staple by exhibiting it. We felt that PB&J is as iconic to the American cultural identity as historical figures and events, so we inserted the PB&J into pivotal moments in U.S. history. The exhibit was curated in a salon style format playing with the intimate and grandiose. In the end, the interactive piece reveals that greatness goes hand in hand with the simple and mundane.
